How I Can Help You

How Counseling/Therapy Can Help

Counseling, also known as therapy, is a place where you can say whatever is on your mind without fearing judgment or experiencing shame. You are free to express your true thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, and fears. You can explore things that have happened in your past that are affecting you now and you can make important connections between your past, present, and future.

Counseling helps you heal wounds that have plagued you and it empowers you to make changes that are important to your mental and emotional well-being. Counseling and therapy help you identify and shift recurring patterns that are no longer helpful in your life.

My counseling and therapy clients often explore issues like family of origin problems, relationship challenges, dealing with difficult emotions, and managing anxiety. You will learn to set healthy boundaries, prioritize self-care, and communicate in direct and kind ways with important people in your life. Together, we will identify healthier emotional and behavioral patterns and create doable change.

Managing difficult emotions, including anxiety and overwhelm

Learning self-compassion and stopping self-criticism

Developing and holding healthier boundaries

Resolving conflicts with others

Private Coaching

How Coaching Can Help

One-on-one coaching is more about moving forward than it is about exploring your past. Coaching is driven by your stated needs and goals. We partner to uncover your greatest strengths and to then set intentional goals that are aligned with your values. Together, we identify what is getting in your way, and I support you in creating meaningful action plans that produce lasting change.

I am a huge believer in the empowering aspect of coaching that allows you to take your future into your own hands. I have witnessed transformational changes in my clients as they begin to own their values, set goals that are important to them, and celebrate their incredible results.

Here are some accomplishments my clients have made through coaching: hiring new employees that are a great fit for their organization; busting through imposter syndrome; facing difficult situations at home and at work and finding creative and positive solutions for themselves and others; leaving a job that is a poor match and entering into fulfilling work; receiving a raise at work after asking with confidence.

Workshop & Coaching Testimonials

What Our Attendees Are Saying

Bruce Blair Executive Director, Mental Health America of Augusta

In a group of very diverse non-profit leaders, Michele was able to deliver information and assist leaders in developing the necessary skills to promote healthy communication and effective working relationships. She not only provided excellent data, but also practical strategies and methods to use with their respected teams.

Attendee Mindfulness for Busy Leaders workshop

The most valuable part of Michele’s workshop for me was developing the skill/habit of being able to observe thoughts/emotions/situations in the moment and to pause enough to make an intentional decision on how to respond to clients and/or co-workers.

Chapman Hood Frazier Professor in Residence in Prince Edward County

Michele did an excellent job of working with a large group of teachers to present introductory information on Mindfulness. She was accessible and collegial and worked well to address their questions.

Attendee Mindfulness for Busy Leaders workshop

Michele did a great job sharing her expertise, providing real life examples from her own life and creating space for participation from all in attendance. She also exhibited very good listening skills and responded in a way that affirmed the value of each person's contributions.

Attendee Mindfulness for Busy Leaders workshop

As a result of Michele’s workshop, I will be trying to make a practice of implementing a one-minute breathwork break a couple of times a day. I am ready to practice observing what's going on around me rather than letting it control me & without feeling like I have to "fix" everything.
